Somebody You Should Know!- George Hackenschmidt
George Hackenschmidt
"The Russsian Lion"
George Hackenschmidt was born in Dorpat on August 2nd, 1878 and died at the age of 89 on February 19th 1968. He was a strong man and professional wrestler within Greco-Roman and Catch-as-Catch-Can.
George was a remarkable all round athlete. It is of my opinion even though he was not as large or had extra ordinary single feats of strength compared to some strongmen his sheer athleticism, relative strength, and domination of the events he took part in was incredible.
Hackenschmidt's contribution to strength training was and still is huge. He created the Hack Squat among other exercises and i would suggest to read his book named "The Way To Live" .
George Hackenschmidt is a person you should read about in depth or at the very least google search about his amazing feats of strength.
